Standing Shot Releases
There was an updated around 4/1/2018 that seemed to increase green windows by about 4-5mS for every shot. But some green percentages seems to be lower.
For these tests we are once again using our modded controller that can control the amount of time a button is pressed down to the millisecond. We are testing on Superstar difficulty in 2ku Freestyle. We use a 200 shot sample size to find the percentages.
How to Read the Chart
The Earliest Green is the earliest millisecond that you are able to get a green with that shot. The lower the number the quicker the shot. The Green Window is the window of time in which it is possible to get a green. Not every shot will be a green even if it is a perfect release. Every shot is taken with a perfect release (the very center of the green window) and the Green Percentage is how many of those shots resulted in a green. The White Percentage is how many white bars went in during the sample. The rest missed. With patch 5, 2k has changed the text so it can say Slightly Early even though it is a perfect release. This was to help combat the complaints about goods going in less than the early/late.
We have recently began to add early window percentages and late window percentages. These values represent 200 attempts from 5 mS inside the green window on each end. This will give a more in depth evaluation of each jumpshot.
How to Use the Chart
From our testing we have found the releases are just cosmetic and the base is all that matters. Use the your favorite jumpshot from the chart below and apply that as your base. The releases are just cosmetic to help you with your shot cue. We will say a popular release is double Aldridge.
Jumpshot Recommendations
For archetypes that need to get off quick shots, we recommend using Jumpshot 9.
For archetypes that only shoot when wide open, we recommend using Lillard.
For an all around jumpshot, we like Jumpshot 25
